Privacy Policy

Who we are

Vitalis is an independent health and wellness publication covering nutrition, fitness, mental health, sleep, healthy recipes and weight loss. We are the data controller for the information described here, which means we decide what is collected and why.

Vitalis does not yet operate on its own domain name. Until it does, the email address in the Contact us section is the single official channel for privacy questions and requests. We would rather publish an address that is genuinely monitored than one that merely looks corporate.

What we collect

Very little, and almost all of it only if you choose to give it. There are three categories in total.

1. Your email address, if you subscribe

The newsletter form is the only place on Vitalis that asks for personal information. You type an email address; we use it to send you the dispatch and to notify ourselves that someone subscribed. Nothing else on the site asks you for a name, a phone number, an address or a payment method.

2. Your cookie choices

When you answer the cookie banner, your answer is stored in your own browser so the banner stops asking. It records which categories you allowed and the date you decided — no identifier, no email, nothing that points back to you.

3. Ordinary server records

Vitalis is hosted by Vercel. Like every web host on the internet, Vercel handles the technical details of each request — the page asked for, the time, the browser type and the IP address it came from — in order to actually deliver the page and to defend the site against attacks and abuse. This happens for any website you visit anywhere; it is a property of how the web works rather than something Vitalis switches on. We do not use these records to build a profile of you, and we do not combine them with your newsletter email.

What we never collect

Stating this precisely matters more than listing what we do collect, so here is the negative space:

• No accounts or passwords. Vitalis has no login, no registration and no user database. There is nothing to sign into.
• No health records. We never ask for a diagnosis, a condition, a medication or a clinical result, and there is nowhere on the site to enter one.
• No payment data. Nothing on Vitalis is for sale, so no card details are requested or handled at any point.
• No sale of personal information. We do not sell, rent or trade your data, and we have no arrangement with data brokers or list resellers.
• No cross-site tracking pixels. There are no social media pixels, no advertising trackers and no session recording or heatmap software on this site.

Cookies we set

One. Vitalis currently sets a single cookie, and it exists only because you asked us to remember an answer.

This cookie is first-party, meaning it is readable only by Vitalis and never by another site. It carries no identifier, so it cannot be used to recognise you elsewhere on the web. Because it is what records your refusal as much as your consent, deleting it makes the banner ask again.

Changing your mind

Withdrawing consent is deliberately as easy as giving it. Open Cookie settings here or from the footer of any page, and your new choice takes effect immediately — no reload, no email, no account required. You can also clear cookies in your browser settings, which removes it outright.

Analytics

Vitalis uses Vercel Analytics to count how many people read each guide. We use it to decide what the editorial desks work on next — if nobody finishes a long workout guide, that tells us something worth knowing.

Two things about it are worth being exact on, because many sites claim them loosely. First, it is genuinely withheld until you allow it. If you decline the Analytics category, or simply have not answered the banner yet, the analytics script is never added to the page and no request is made to it. This is enforced in the site's code, not merely promised in this document. Second, it does not identify you. Vercel Analytics is designed to measure traffic in aggregate rather than to follow individuals between sites, and it is never joined to your newsletter email.

Analytics also runs only on the live site. Development and preview versions of Vitalis load no measurement of any kind.

Advertising

Vitalis does not currently display advertising. No ad network is loaded on this site today, no advertising cookie is set, and no advertising partner receives your data from us. We would rather say that plainly than publish the usual paragraph about vendors we have not engaged.

We intend to fund Vitalis with advertising through Google AdSense. We are disclosing that now, in advance, so this page is honest about the direction rather than silently rewritten later. If and when ads go live, the following will apply and this section will be updated with the date of the change:

• Google, as a third-party vendor, would use cookies to serve ads on Vitalis.
• Google's use of advertising cookies would enable it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet.
• You would be able to opt out of personalised advertising at any time through Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies more broadly at aboutads.info.
• The Advertisement toggle in our cookie settings would govern whether the ads you see are personalised. Declining does not remove ads; it makes them untargeted.

The newsletter

If you subscribe to the Vitalis dispatch, here is the entire path your email address takes.

Your address is submitted to our server, checked to make sure it is a plausible email, and passed to Resend, the service that delivers our email. Resend sends you a welcome issue and sends a notification to the editor's inbox so we know a reader has joined. Your address therefore rests in two places: Resend's sending records and that inbox. It is not loaded into an advertising platform, and it is not shared with anyone else.

The form also contains a hidden field that human visitors never see. Automated bots fill it in and are silently discarded. It collects nothing about you and exists purely to keep junk signups out.

Leaving the list

Email us at ahmadahmii0.0.9@gmail.com and we will remove your address and confirm once it is gone. You never have to explain why, and you can reply directly to any dispatch to reach the same inbox.

Calculators and tools

Vitalis publishes several calculators — BMI, daily calorie target, protein and macro split, hydration and sleep cycles. The figures you type into them are personal, so they are handled the most conservatively of anything on the site.

Every calculation happens inside your own browser. Your height, weight, age and sleep times are never transmitted to us, never written to a database and never saved to your device. They exist in the page while it is open and are gone the moment you close or reload it. We could not tell you your own BMI result if you asked us — we genuinely never receive it.

Companies we rely on

We keep this list short on purpose. Each of these companies processes data strictly on our instructions.

• VercelHosting and analytics

  Serves every page of Vitalis and, only with your consent, counts page views.

• ResendNewsletter delivery

  Delivers the dispatch to subscribers. Receives your email address only if you subscribe.

One absence is worth noting. Our typefaces are served from our own servers rather than fetched from Google Fonts as you browse, so reading Vitalis does not quietly announce your visit to a font provider.

Why we are allowed to

If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, the UK GDPR and GDPR require us to name a lawful basis for each use of your data. Ours are:

• Consent. For analytics and for any future advertising cookies. You give it through the cookie banner and can withdraw it at any time.
• Consent. For the newsletter. Subscribing is the consent, and unsubscribing withdraws it.
• Legitimate interests. For the server records our host keeps in order to deliver pages, keep the site available and prevent abuse. We have weighed this against your privacy and limited it to what hosting genuinely requires.
• Legal obligation. Where we must retain or disclose something to comply with the law.

How long we keep things

Your newsletter email is kept for as long as you are subscribed, and is deleted after you ask to leave. Your cookie choice expires thirteen months after you make it, at which point we ask again rather than assume your answer still stands. Calculator entries are kept for no time at all, because they never reach us. Server records are retained by our host for the limited period described in their own policy.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the rights below. We extend them to every reader who asks, wherever they are, rather than checking your jurisdiction first.

• Access — ask what we hold about you. In practice this is your email address, or nothing at all.
• Correction — have an inaccurate address fixed.
• Deletion — have your address erased from our records.
• Objection and restriction — object to a use, or ask us to pause it.
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable form.
• Withdraw consent — at any moment, without giving a reason.
• Non-discrimination — exercising any right never costs you access to Vitalis. Every article stays free and complete.

California residents have the right to know what is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Vitalis does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA and CPRA, so there is no opt-out to complete — but you are welcome to write and confirm that with us.

To exercise anything above, email ahmadahmii0.0.9@gmail.com. We aim to reply within 30 days. Because we hold so little, most requests are settled the same week. If you are in the UK or EEA and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your national data protection authority.

International transfers

Vitalis is read worldwide, and the companies listed above operate infrastructure in several countries, including the United States. If you are in the UK or EEA, this means your data may be processed outside your own country. Where that happens, those providers rely on safeguards approved for international transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, which are described in their respective privacy policies.

Security

Vitalis is served entirely over an encrypted HTTPS connection, so the pages you read and the address you submit cannot be read in transit. The consent cookie is marked Secure and SameSite=Lax, which keeps it from being sent over plain connections or attached to requests initiated by other sites.

Our strongest protection, though, is structural: we hold almost nothing. There is no user database to compromise, no stored passwords, no payment records and no health data on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise — but a breach of Vitalis could not expose information we never collected.

Children

Vitalis is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13 — or under 16 in regions where that is the threshold for consent. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has subscribed to our newsletter, write to us and we will delete the address promptly.

A note on health topics

Reading about a health subject can itself feel sensitive, so it is worth stating what that reading does and does not create. Vitalis does not build an interest profile from the articles you open. We do not record that a particular visitor read about anxiety, fertility or weight loss, and we could not disclose such a thing because we never assemble it. Analytics, when you allow it, counts readers of a page — it does not follow a reader between pages and attach subjects to them.

Separately, and importantly: everything Vitalis publishes is general educational information, not medical advice. Please speak to a qualified clinician before changing how you eat, train, sleep or medicate.

Changes to this policy

When our practices change, this page changes with them and the date at the top is updated. If a change is significant — a new category of data, a new processor, or the launch of advertising — we will make that clear here rather than adjusting the wording quietly. Introducing a new cookie category also resets the consent record, which means the banner asks you again instead of carrying over an answer you gave to a different question.
