Read this before anything else
Vitalis publishes health journalism. It does not practise medicine, and reading it does not put you under anyone's care.
No writer or reviewer here has examined you, seen your history, or knows what you already take. That makes every article general information by definition — useful for asking your clinician a sharper question, never a substitute for their answer. If you are dealing with chest pain, thoughts of harming yourself, or any symptom that frightens you, close this page and contact your local emergency number or a crisis line now. Do not wait to finish an article first.
Clause 2 sets this out in full, and clause 13 explains what it means for our liability. Nothing elsewhere in this document narrows either of them.
Clause 1. Agreeing to these terms
Vitalis is an independent health and wellness magazine covering nutrition, fitness, mental health, sleep, healthy recipes and weight loss. This page is the agreement between you, the reader, and us, the publisher. It applies from the moment a page of ours opens in your browser.
There is nothing to sign and no box to tick, because there are no accounts on Vitalis. Continuing to read is how you accept these terms — the same way walking into a library accepts its rules without a signature. If any clause here is unacceptable to you, the remedy is simple and immediate: stop using the site.
These terms sit alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers what happens to your information rather than what you may do with ours. Where a question is genuinely about data, that document governs.
Clause 2. What Vitalis is not
This is the most important clause on the page, so it is written as plainly as we can manage.
Everything published on Vitalis — articles, recipes, workout plans, sleep guides, calculator outputs and newsletter issues — is general educational information. It is researched carefully and reviewed before publication, but it is written for an audience of thousands of strangers, not for you. That distinction is not a formality. A protein target that suits a healthy thirty-year-old can be actively harmful to someone with reduced kidney function. A fasting window that helps one reader can destabilise another on insulin. We cannot know which of those you are.
No clinical relationship is created
Reading Vitalis, subscribing to the dispatch, using a calculator or emailing us does not create a doctor–patient, therapist–client, dietitian–client or coach–athlete relationship. Our contributors and reviewers may hold professional qualifications, and where they do we say so — but they write here as journalists and reviewers, not as your practitioner. Nobody at Vitalis is treating you.
What to do instead
Speak to a qualified clinician who can examine you before you change how you eat, train, sleep, supplement or medicate. Do not stop, start or adjust a prescribed medication because of something you read here. Do not delay seeking care, and do not disregard advice you have already been given, because an article on this site said something different. If you are pregnant, managing a chronic condition, recovering from surgery, under eighteen, or taking prescription medication, treat everything on Vitalis as a conversation starter for that appointment and nothing more.
Emergencies
Vitalis is not monitored for emergencies and cannot respond to one. Our inbox is read by editors during working hours, often days after a message arrives. If you are in crisis or think you may be, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line in your country immediately.
Clause 3. Who may use the site
Vitalis is written for adults. By using it you confirm that you are at least eighteen, or that you have the permission of a parent or guardian who has read these terms. Some of what we publish — calorie targets, training loads, fasting protocols, discussions of disordered eating and low mood — is not appropriate for children and can be genuinely unhelpful to a developing body or a young person in difficulty.
We do not knowingly collect information from children. The newsletter is the only place we ask for anything at all, and if we learn that a subscriber is under age we delete the address rather than keep it.
You must also confirm that using Vitalis is lawful where you live. We publish from one place and are read in many, and we make no claim that our content is appropriate or available in every jurisdiction. If you access it from somewhere it is restricted, that is your call and your responsibility.
Clause 4. What you may do with our work
Everything on Vitalis — the writing, photography, illustration, page design, calculator logic and the Vitalis name and leaf mark — is our property or is used with permission, and is protected by copyright and trade mark law. That said, we would rather tell you what you can do than list prohibitions first.
Without asking us, you may:
- Read, print and save any article for your own personal, non-commercial use — including printing a recipe for your kitchen or a workout for your gym bag.
- Share a link to any page of ours anywhere you like. Links are always welcome and never require permission.
- Quote a short passage — a sentence or two — in your own writing, review or research, provided you name Vitalis and link back to the article you took it from.
- Show an article to your doctor, coach, dietitian or therapist and discuss it with them. We would encourage it.
- Use our calculators as often as you want, for yourself, without attribution.
Anything beyond that — republishing a full article, using our photography in your own product, or reproducing our work commercially — needs written permission first. Ask at the address in clause 19; we answer these, and the answer is often yes.
Clause 5. What you may not do
The restrictions below exist to keep the site fast, honest and available to everyone reading it. You agree not to:
- Republish our work as your own. Copying an article wholesale, spinning it, translating it or feeding it through a rewriter and publishing the result — with or without our name on it.
- Scrape the site at scale. Automated harvesting of our pages, including for the purpose of training or fine-tuning a machine learning model, without our written permission.
- Strip out our identity. Removing bylines, review credits, copyright notices or watermarks, or presenting our content in a frame that hides where it came from.
- Present our content as clinical advice. Repackaging an article as a treatment plan, a diagnosis or a professional recommendation to someone else. Clause 2 is not something you can reassign.
- Interfere with the site. Probing for vulnerabilities, overwhelming our host, bypassing security, or introducing malware or any other harmful code.
- Misuse the newsletter or inbox. Subscribing addresses that are not yours, or sending us spam, bulk pitches or abusive messages.
- Impersonate Vitalis. Setting up accounts, sites or emails that suggest you are us, or that we endorse, review or are affiliated with you.
Responsible security research is the exception we welcome. If you find a genuine vulnerability, tell us privately at the address in clause 19 before disclosing it anywhere else, and we will not treat that report as a breach of this clause.
Clause 6. Using the calculators
Vitalis publishes five tools — a BMI calculator, a daily calorie target, a protein and macro split, a hydration planner and a sleep cycle planner. Each one runs entirely inside your own browser. Nothing you type is transmitted to us, stored, or seen by anyone.
Because they produce a number that looks specific, it is worth being exact about what that number is worth. Every one of these tools applies a published population formula to the figures you enter. A formula fitted to a population describes an average, and no individual is the average. The output is an estimate for orientation, not a measurement and not a prescription.
BMI in particular is a ratio of weight to height that knows nothing about muscle, bone density, body composition, ethnicity, age or pregnancy — a well-trained athlete and a sedentary person can share a figure while sharing no meaningful health status. Calorie and macro estimates carry wide individual variation regardless of which equation produces them. Treat all of it as a starting point to discuss with someone who can actually assess you.
You agree to use these tools for general interest only, and not to rely on them to diagnose a condition, to determine a clinical intake, or to make a decision about medication or treatment. If a result concerns you, that is a reason to book an appointment — not a reason to act alone.
Clause 7. The newsletter
Subscribing to the Vitalis dispatch is optional, free and entirely up to you. You agree to subscribe only your own address, and to leave the list rather than mark our mail as spam if you no longer want it — a spam report harms delivery for every other reader, while an unsubscribe costs you the same click.
Every issue is subject to these terms in full, clause 2 included. We may change what the dispatch contains, how often it arrives, or stop publishing it altogether. Unsubscribing is always available: reply to any issue, or write to the address in clause 19 and we will remove you and confirm it. How we handle your address is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Clause 8. Anything you send us
There are no comments, profiles or uploads on Vitalis, so the only way to send us anything is by email. If you do — a correction, a story, a question, a recipe that worked, a photograph — a few things follow.
You keep ownership of what you send. By sending it you give us permission to publish or quote it in our editorial work, including in an article, a correction note or a newsletter issue, without payment. We will not print your full name or contact details without asking you first, and if you ask us not to publish something at all we will not.
You confirm that what you send is yours to send, that it is accurate as far as you know, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights or reveal a third party's private information. Please do not email us clinical records, test results or details of someone else's health — our inbox is not a secure channel and we do not want to hold that material.
Clause 9. Advertising and affiliate links
Vitalis carries no advertising today. We intend to fund the magazine through Google AdSense, and we are saying so here in advance rather than adding a clause quietly on the day it happens. When ads appear, they will be clearly distinguishable from editorial, and our advertisers will have no involvement in what our desks choose to cover or what they conclude.
Where an article contains an affiliate link — a link that may earn us a commission if you buy something — it is labelled on that page. A commission never buys a recommendation, and it does not change what we would have written anyway. Any transaction you make on another company's site is between you and that company; we are not a party to it and cannot resolve a problem with your order, your delivery or your refund.
Advertising cookies, if and when they arrive, are governed by your choices in our cookie settings and described in the Privacy Policy.
Clause 10. Links to other sites
Our articles link out to studies, guidelines, professional bodies and occasionally products, because a health claim should be checkable. Those destinations are not ours. We do not control their content, their accuracy, their advertising or their privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement of everything a site publishes.
Once you follow an outbound link you are on someone else's terms, and theirs govern from that point. Research also moves — a page that supported a claim in 2026 may be revised or withdrawn later. If you find one of our links is broken, redirected somewhere unexpected or no longer supports the point it was cited for, tell us and we will fix or remove it.
Clause 11. Accuracy and corrections
We take accuracy seriously. Articles are researched against primary sources where possible, reviewed before publication, and dated so you can see how current they are. Health evidence, though, is not fixed. Guidance that reflected the consensus when a piece was published can be superseded, and an older article may not carry the most recent position even though it was right when written.
So we do not warrant that everything on Vitalis is complete, current or error-free, and you should check the publication or review date on anything you plan to act on. What we do commit to is fixing what we get wrong. Write to us with the article and the problem, and if we made a mistake we will correct it and note the correction on the page rather than edit it away silently.
Clause 12. Availability of the site
Vitalis is provided free of charge and as is. We give no guarantee that the site will be available without interruption, that it will be free of errors or that any defect will be fixed within a particular time. Hosting fails, deployments break and maintenance happens.
We may change, suspend, restructure or withdraw any part of the site — an article, a calculator, a whole desk — at any time and without notice. We are not obliged to keep any particular page online permanently, so if something here matters to you, save or print your own copy under clause 4 rather than assume the URL will always resolve.
Clause 13. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vitalis and the people who write, review, edit and produce it are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or your reliance on anything published here. That includes any injury, illness, worsened condition, financial loss, lost time or disappointment connected to acting on our content, and it applies whether the claim is framed in contract, negligence or otherwise.
The reasoning is the same as clause 2 rather than a lawyer hedging: we do not know your body, your history, your medication or your circumstances, so we cannot responsibly accept liability for decisions made about them. Where a jurisdiction caps rather than excludes such liability, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us — which, since Vitalis is free to read, is nothing.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this clause may not apply to you; the rest still does. Consumer rights you hold under the law where you live are unaffected by anything on this page.
Clause 14. Your responsibility to us
If you break these terms — by republishing our work, misusing the site, or presenting our content as clinical advice to someone else — and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs, losses and legal fees we incur as a result.
This is not aimed at ordinary readers, and we have no interest in pursuing one. It exists for the narrow case of someone taking our material and using it commercially or harmfully in a way that lands at our door.
Clause 15. Withdrawing access
There are no accounts here, so there is nothing for us to suspend in the usual sense. Where someone is scraping the site, attacking it, or systematically republishing our work, we may block access at a technical level, remove infringing copies through the appropriate legal channels, and take further action where the conduct warrants it.
Your own way out is always open and needs no notice: stop reading, and unsubscribe if you are on the list. Clauses 4, 5, 8, 13, 14 and 16 survive after you stop using the site, since they concern things that may already have happened.
Clause 16. Governing law and disputes
These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of Vitalis, are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, where the publisher is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Pakistan have jurisdiction, though this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer laws in your own country of residence.
Before anything formal, please write to us. Nearly every dispute a publication has with a reader is a misunderstanding, a factual error or a permission question, and all three are resolved faster by email than by anyone filing anything. We commit to engaging genuinely with a complaint sent to the address in clause 19.
Clause 17. Changes to these terms
We may revise this page as the site changes — when advertising goes live, when a new tool is published, or when the law moves. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version, and continuing to use Vitalis after a change means you accept the revised terms.
For a substantive change — a new category of restriction, a material change to liability, or the launch of advertising — we will say so plainly here and, where we reasonably can, note it in the newsletter rather than let it pass unannounced.
Clause 18. General provisions
The usual mechanics, kept short:
- Whole agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us about your use of Vitalis, and replace anything said previously.
- Severability. If a court finds one clause unenforceable, that clause is trimmed to the minimum extent necessary and everything else stays in force.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce something immediately, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours if the publication changes hands, and your rights here would carry over.
- Third parties. Nobody outside this agreement gains a right to enforce any part of it.
- Headings. Clause numbers and captions are there to help you cite and navigate. They do not change the meaning of the text beneath them.
Clause 19. How to reach us
Permission requests, corrections, complaints and questions about these terms all go to the same monitored inbox. Vitalis does not yet operate on its own domain, so this address is the single official channel rather than one of several.
Legal and permissions
Write to the correspondence deskChoose Press, licensing or partnership for permissions, and cite the clause number if your question is about a specific one — it gets you a faster and more useful answer. We aim to reply within 30 days and usually manage the same week.
